Traffic jams, flooding are common problems encountered in Ho Chi Minh City. Especially during big holidays such as April 30 and May 1, the situation of family members pulling together to go to the ceremony makes the gateways in overload.
To resolve this situation, Ho Chi Minh Department of Transportation cooperated with Zalo to launch the feature to monitor traffic congestion, flooding through images of 685 traffic cameras spread across the routes in Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition to manual observation via camera, this tool also automatically sends a message to users if there is any new information about traffic accidents causing traffic jams, road closures, and road construction restrictions.
Guide to view 685 traffic cameras throughout Ho Chi Minh City to avoid traffic jams and flooding
Step 1: On smartphones, computers, start the Zalo application, if not, you can download the following link:
Step 2: At the search item (magnifying glass), enter and search under the name “HCMC Traffic Information”.
Step 3: Select “Search traffic information in Ho Chi Minh City” just search> Select “Interest”.
Step 4: Now the application will transfer you to the messaging interface, here gives you some of the following useful features:
“Around here” feature: Use your current location to statistic traffic status in the moving area.
Now you can click “View camera” to access camera images of routes near you to check traffic and traffic congestion.
Or click on “View the surrounding status map” for a more intuitive view of the traffic situation. Note: Roads that are jammed will be red (serious), orange (crowded) and green (airy).
“Information” feature: Provides you with information on traffic flow (blocking roads, under construction roads …) and a list of 685 cameras across Ho Chi Minh City.
Traffic flow provides a list of traffic restriction points, traffic regulation and traffic prohibition of all routes in the city area.
Traffic cameras help you query camera images at any location in the city, to query you just enter the syntax:
- #cam [tên đường cần tra cứu].
For example, if you want to see all cameras on Cong Hoa Street, enter the syntax: #cam Republic Road.
